SALT LAKE CITY — Mountain Land Physical Therapy and Neuroworx teamed up to present a day of adaptive water skiing all for people with life-altering injuries.
2025 marks the 15th year of the event — the first of two sessions was hosted on July 15, and the second is coming up on Aug. 5.
The Aug. 5 event will be held at Last Chance Lakes in Vernon.
A press release from Mountain Land PT and Neuroworx said the event is “an unforgettable day packed with laughter, camaraderie … and the sheer delight of adaptive waterskiing.”
The benefits of adaptive water skiing
Adaptive sports, such as water skiing, allow those with disabilities to reap the benefits of participating in outdoor recreation.
Gear plays a big role in bringing the sport to those with disabilities. During the adaptive water skiing event, customizable gear is made available for each participant.

According to the National Library of Medicine, adaptive sports provide the same benefits as other forms of exercise — they help improve mental and physical health, while also involving participants in a community.
“We believe providing this opportunity will create an enhanced quality of life, improved health, increased social involvement and an expanded vision of what is possible,” read the press release.
