Car crash closes down Provo Canyon, hospitalizes four

PROVO — On Sunday evening, a crash closed down Provo Canyon at mile marker 9, by Canyon Glen Park.

Four people were taken to area hospitals.

According to Cpl. Gordon a passenger car was going northbound on 189 when a SUV entered the travel lanes from Kyhv Peak Rd and was struck by the passenger car.

There is now one lane open in each direction of travel but there still may be closures intermittently for clean up and investigation.

UDOT encourages drivers to use an alternate route.
