Skeletal remains found near Devil’s Gate, reports Elko County Sheriff’s Office

SALT LAKE CITY — An investigation continues after human remains were found Sunday in an area of Nevada known as Devil’s Gate, near Silver City.
Officials did not reveal who found the remains. But the Elko County Detectives Division responded to and processed the scene. The Elko County Sheriff’s Office said detectives excavated the remains from a shallow grave.
The sheriff’s office said the condition of the remains was such that they could not determine either an identity or the age of the grave.
The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.
The case is being investigated as a homicide. Anybody with information is asked to contact officials by:
