SALT LAKE CITY — Skiers and snowboarders experienced traffic and at least one crash on Saturday as cold air finally brought some snow to ski resorts in Utah’s mountains.
Little Cottonwood Canyon was packed full of traffic as skiers and snowboarders traveled to Alta and Snowbird when long awaited snow finally hit the mountains in Utah after an unusually warm December. Road restrictions were in place for travelers on state Route 210.
Big Cottonwood Canyon experienced less traffic as drivers traveled towards Solitude and Brighton ski resorts on state Route 190, which also had road restrictions in place.
Around 10:40 a.m., a single vehicle rollover happened on SR-210. The Utah Department of Transportation said the crash was caused by wet road conditions, no one was injured in the crash and no lanes were blocked.
Although the crash didn’t block any lanes, UDOT said to expect delayed traffic in both directions.
