SALT LAKE CITY — Three people were able to get out of their house safely with the help of police after their residence caught fire in Clinton Friday morning.
Clinton City Fire Department Deputy Chief Nick Jarvis said the cause of the 6:20 a.m. fire was still under investigation, but there was damage to the structure of the house, along with the living room.
“When initial crews arrived on scene they had smoke and flames coming out from the side of the house and kind of the front of the house into the carport area,” Jarvis said.
Clinton City Fire Department also said firefighters had to battle live power lines stretching across the roof of the home as they worked on the fire.
According to Jarvis, the house was uninhabitable, and until it could be restored, the residents were displaced.
North Davis Fire District and Hill Air Force Base also assisted with the fire. Northern Utah Red Cross said it is helping those who were displaced by the fire and assisted with determining damages.
According to the the American Red Cross, at least four adults were impacted by the fire.
