Man dies after crash on I-15 in Box Elder County

SALT LAKE CITY — A 22-year-old man died early Thursday from injuries sustained in a crash on Interstate 15 in Box Elder County.

Lt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said someone called in reporting the man was driving in the southbound lane, allegedly without any lights on at 1:58 a.m. The man then crashed just north of mile marker 360 near Brigham City.

“As investigators looked, it appeared that (the driver) may have hit another vehicle in the far right lane but that vehicle did not stop,” Roden said. “We think it possibly could have been the rear of a semi.”

Roden said a couple hours later, a semitruck driver called in reporting the crash and troopers responded to the call. The crash is still under investigation.
