SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah Highway Patrol trooper was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries early Saturday after a crash in Murray, the Utah Department of Public Safety said.
DPS said a UHP trooper was injured around 1 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 15 off-ramp at 5300 South, when the trooper’s car hit into another vehicle.
According to DPS, a 19-year-old woman was driving the vehicle that was struck, and the vehicle was at a standstill in the travel lane after running out of fuel.
DPS said the woman didn’t receive any injuries, although the Murray Police Department said she was arrested for investigation of allegedly driving under the influence, while the trooper was taken to the hospital to be treated.
