“I would like to nominate Mrs. Child, a 5th grade teacher at St. Marguerite’s Catholic School, for the Best in Class Teacher Award.
Mrs. Child truly goes above and beyond for her students. Every time you see her, she is completely in her element—engaged, enthusiastic, and making what she does look effortless. Her passion for teaching is clear, and it creates an environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn.
My son has had the privilege of having Mrs. Child as his teacher for three consecutive years—3rd, 4th, and now 5th grade. When he moved up to 5th grade, she moved up as well, and it has been incredible to watch the continued impact she has had on his growth.
She genuinely cares about every student and takes the time to understand who they are as individuals. She recognizes that each child learns differently and gives them the one-on-one attention they need to succeed. In my son’s case, she has never held him back when he was ready to move forward. Instead, she challenges him and keeps him engaged so that he continues learning rather than becoming bored.
Because of her guidance, my son has developed strong habits and a real love for learning. His attention to punctuation, his desire to be early and prepared, and his drive to always strive for better are all things that have grown under her mentorship.
Teachers like Mrs. Child don’t just teach lessons from a book—they help shape the character, confidence, and curiosity of their students. Our family is incredibly grateful for the impact she has had on our son and the care she shows to every child in her classroom.”
