“Lisa Peterson is a reading specialist/coach at William Penn Elementary. She is responsible for helping students increase reading skills and become better readers. She sets up reading groups for students to be taught by para educators and works with teachers to improve their reading instruction. Lisa knows every student by name and also volunteers to be a crossing guard after school to keep students safe. She is well loved and takes the time to do fun activities such as the run away gingerbread boy, elf on the shelf and building leprechaun traps! The students make great progress in reading each year and love learning in part because of Lisa. Every student and teacher at our school know, and enjoy working with her because she truly cares about everyone at William Penn.”
