“Mrs. Ewing is my teammate and I don’t think many other people know how much she does. She is usually the first teacher at school in the morning. She makes sure every detail of our day is planned and organized and that we haven’t forgotten anything. She is working on her masters right now and is already applying what she is learning to benefit our students. She is also deaf, she has hearing aides and reads lips and has never let that hold her back. It also drives her to help students with any type of disadvantage, to not use that as an excuse to not excel at anything they want to do. On top of teaching, she also works for Ogden Soccer Association, painting fields on evenings and weekends with her husband and helping with their finances. She also volunteers at least once a week, at a home for disabled and elderly adults doing activities and celebrating birthday with them. She has also been a military wife and mom. Her husband and both grown kids are military veterans. I wanted to nominate her because she has been such a huge help to me and she is getting two new teammates next year that she will be leading. They are lucky to have her. She amazes me with all she does and she and her husband still make time to go to plays. They love plays. So this would be perfect!”
