Police searching for driver who fled after hitting 2 vehicles in Taylorsville

SALT LAKE CITY — Police were searching for the driver of a pickup truck who allegedly drove off after hitting two other vehicles and a power pole on Sunday in Taylorsville.

Officer Cody White with the Taylorsville Police Department said a red pickup truck ran a red light and crashed into two cars and an Xfinity power pole at the intersection of 4700 S and Redwood around 10:07 p.m.

According to White, witnesses said the truck may have been traveling at speeds of around 60 to 100 mph.

One vehicle that was struck ended up rolling, and people in the second car that was hit had to be extracted by responders, according to White.

Occupants in the vehicles that were hit had minor injuries, Xfinity said internet and phone lines were down in the area for multiple customers.
