“Mrs. Blankinship puts her whole heart into teaching! Her students can feel she truly cares for them, she makes learning fun, and she brings out the best in her students.
For social studies each year, she puts a lot of work into organizing a mountain man rendezvous to help bring that part of Utah’s history alive. This event includes panning for gold, leather stamping, and so many more fun mountain man-themed activities!
She also packs in a lot of hands-on learning throughout the year, such as helping the students create salt dough maps of Utah to learn about its landforms, loads of science experiments, and creating huge models using base-ten blocks to help students visualize numbers.
Students in her class know that she loves them, and she has a gift for helping students act kindly and learn from their mistakes in positive ways. She remembers small details about their lives that they tell her about. Kids love her because she cares!”
