Residents evacuated, allowed back home after Kaysville fire

KAYSVILLE, Utah — Crews said residents of Kaysville who briefly evacuated because of a new fire start were being allowed to go back to their homes Friday night.
Just 20 minutes after first sharing the evacuation notice to Facebook, the Kaysville Fire Department updated its post to say a fire burning at East Mountain Wilderness Park, near 1625 East 650 North in Kaysville, was under control. Multiple agencies helped make that happen alongside Kaysville.
As of 9:45 p.m. Friday night, crews remained on scene monitoring hotspots.
The Kaysville Fire Department said Monday that aerial fireworks were banned everywhere in the city. City leaders completely banned fireworks of any kind in some areas of the city, but allowed ground fireworks in others.
There was no word on a cause of the fire.
