“Lisa Peterson is a reading specialist /coach at William Penn Elementary. She is responsible for helping students with their reading skills so they can become more proficient readers and learners. She organizes reading groups for students to be taught by her and para educators, and focuses on individual needs and growth. Lisa also works with all the teachers in the school to improve their reading instruction. She knows every student in the school by name and cares about them deeply. She also volunteers to be a crossing guard every day after school to keep our students safe.
Mrs. Peterson is very busy, but takes the time to do fun activities for the students such as: making gingerbread boys, Elf on the shelf and building leprechaun traps. The students in our school make great progress in reading and enjoy learning in part because of Lisa. She is known and liked by all of the students and staff at our school. She deserves special recognition for her awesome talents!”
