Man arrested for burglary has a history of assaults, police documents say

SALT LAKE CITY — A man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of burglary after police say he broke into an apartment and stole belongings while a woman was inside. Documents say he has a pattern of recent assaults.
A probable cause statement for the incident said 27-year-old Kaden Hunter was seen on security footage forcing his way into the front entrance of an apartment complex, then getting into an elevator and walking to the victim’s apartment.
Police said Hunter walked back and forth in the hallway to make sure nobody was around before he forced his way into a room and stole items, including a bag with the victim’s keys.
The statement said Hunter “is a repeat offender and has a history of assaulting military members.”
The document called Hunter “a grave threat to the safety of the public,” saying he had been arrested multiple times over the course of a month.
In this incident, Hunter is accused of a felony for burglary.
