SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – The Road Home says everyone staying at the new men’s resource center in South Salt Lake has been nice and warm this week. But the employees in the lobby needed extra coats and hats.

Interim Executive Director Michelle Flynn says an issue with some of the boilers made the lobby area chilly.

“As a new building, we need[ed] to adjust the system to make sure they’re working correctly. We have about 300 people staying there plus our staff. It changes the flow of the air through the building,” Flynn says.

The problem started on Monday and was fixed by Wednesday afternoon.

“It’s quite a large ceiling area…so we’re just tweaking all the systems. And so now that it’s fixed, we don’t have that issue anymore,” Flynn says.

Local homeless activists had been worried the problem affected more of the resource center than it did, but were relieved when everything was fixed.
