Overdue skiers found in good condition in Wasatch County

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — Two overdue skiers were found safe after search and rescue crews contacted them by phone.
Wasatch County Search and Rescue said the overdue skiers went missing on Tuesday around 4 p.m. near Snake Creek at Brighton Ski Resort in Wasatch County.
They were reported missing to dispatch. Within two hours, crews located the pair after reaching them by their cell phone.
The skiers were transported to a Midway hospital in good condition.
Officials say the skiers went down the wrong side of the mountain at Snake Creek, a backcountry area with unsafe terrain.
The National Ski Patrol reports that each year, more skiers and snowboarders are venturing into the ungroomed terrain of the backcountry. They have several recommendations for anybody who goes outside the boundaries looking for winter adventures. You’ll find them, here, on their website.
