Salt Lake County has 20,000 new vaccine appointments available

SALT LAKE CITY — Due to an unexpected shipment of vaccines, Salt Lake County will have 20,000 new COVID-19 vaccine appointments available next week.
County Mayor Jenny Wilson said this means in some areas, like the Mountain America Expo Center, people won’t even need to make vaccine appointments in Salt Lake County.
“Anybody listening, make a note, you don’t need to register and go in and set that time,” Wilson told Dave and Dujanovic.
Wilson said Monday to Saturday walk-ins will be welcome from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain America Expo Center. However, she said scheduling an appointment may work out best and mean there’s less chance of a wait.
“I’m excited, you know, we had booked all of the month of April in late March because we had such high demand that the appointments went very quickly,” Wilson said.
Wilson said a good portion of adults in Salt Lake County have received at least their first dose, and now they’re able to shift the way they’re able to administer those doses and start doing things like sending out mobile units.

COVID-19 coronaviruses transmitted from person to person. It is a virus that is similar to the common cold and the flu. So, to prevent it from spreading:
