BLANDING — Early Saturday morning, San Juan County Sheriff’s office seized approximately 88 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills and 5 kilograms of suspected heroin.
It started as traffic stop in Blanding for a registration violation. Via a facebook post the San Juan County Sheriff’s office said members of the San Juan County Major Crimes and Drug Task Force unit made the stop.
After preforming a free air sniff of the vehicle the K-9 Nyx alerted officers to the presence of narcotics.

A search revealed the approximately 88 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills, which comes to approximately 240,000 pills, and 5 kilograms of suspected heroin. The total street value of the substances coming to an estimated $1.2 million.
The drugs have been seized and the driver arrested. Officers are now conducting a full investigation.
