SLCPD to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is one of many departments taking part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 30.
The police department will accept prescription drugs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will be held at the SLCPD Pioneer Precinct located at 1040 West 700 South.

SLCPD said Take Back Day is an initiative that aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means to dispose of prescription drugs. It also works to educate the community about the potential for abuse of prescription drugs.
During the last Take Back Day, which took place in October, law enforcement around the country collected 372 tons worth of prescriptions.
