ST. GEORGE — A home for sale was heavily damaged by water. Someone dragged in garden hoses and turned on all the faucets and left the water running throughout the house.

The homeowners hoping to sell the home say someone dragged in garden hoses and turned on all the faucets and left the water running throughout the house.

Cheryl Styler says it is senseless.

“We are shocked and devastated.  Who in the world would fathom doing such a thing?” she said.

The house was shown on Friday, July 14, and Styler believes one of those realtors must have left a window or door unlocked.  Someone else went by to see the home and saw water coming out of the garage. They called their realtor, who called the Stylers’ realtor, who didn’t get the message until Monday.  Water had been pouring throughout the house the entire weekend.

“There was so much water that it was coming out of the foundation and out of the stucco. It soaked everything,” she said.

The Stylers hope someone can give the police any clues. They say they were told their homeowners’ insurance won’t cover the at least $20,000 in damages because the house was vacant for 30 days.
