The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced it has closed the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple in South Jordan.

The Church spokeswoman reported, “due to the potential COVID-19 exposure, the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, which has been closed for maintenance, will remain closed for an additional week for evaluation.”

93 of the faith’s 168 temples around the world have closed due to the coronavirus. Those that remain open for limited hours are performing living ordinances like temple weddings or sealings with fewer than 10 people at a time.

Health officials said at a news conference they are working to contact anyone who may have been in close contact with the man at the temple before he tested positive.

Changes to temple worship were originally announced by church leaders in a letter sent a letter to members around the world two weeks ago.

A complete list of temple closures can be found on the church’s news site.
