LONG ISLAND, New York — Singer Justin Timberlake has been arrested in Long Island, according to the Associated Press. He has been accused of driving while intoxicated.

Timberlake was arrested early this morning. CNN reported that he is still in police custody.

An unnamed source also told CNN that Timberlake had left the American Hotel before his arrest.

The incident took place in Sag Harbor, a village on the eastern side of Long Island. Sag Harbor is part of The Hamptons.

According to Heading Out, The Hamptons is a group of towns and villages. The area is a well-known getaway, particularly for the wealthy.

Associated Press reported that Timberlake is expected to appear in court this morning. Additionally, CNN said that police are expected to release a statement.

Timberlake is scheduled to perform on Friday

Timberlake is currently touring with his most recent album, titled “Everything I Thought I Was.” Per his website, his next tour stop is scheduled for Friday in Chicago.

At this time, the show is still scheduled. No statements have been shared on his social media accounts.

Once a prominent singer in American music, Timberlake’s most recent album was met with criticism. After its March release, The New York Times reported the album saw “weaker than usual” sales.

Per Apple Music, the album is his sixth solo studio album. He launched his solo career after his band, *NSYNC went on hiatus in 2002.

In 2023, *NSYNC reunited at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later released a single that was included on the soundtrack for Trolls 3.
