SALT LAKE CITY — To promote a greener downtown Salt Lake City, a new pop-up shop is open to the public.
Through June 10, a temporary park has been created in the middle lanes of 200 E. from 300 S. to 400 S.
This temporary park is a part of the Salt Lake City Transporation Divisions’ plan to create a “Green Loop” linear park network, integrated with city streets. The SLC Transportation Division plans to install a short-term version of the Green Loop before the real deal.
According to the division’s webpage traffic flow will be maintained.
The downtown pop-up has food trucks that serve at lunchtime on weekdays. And on weekends the public can enjoy food trucks, bar trucks and live music. After-work concerts are also taking place on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
It features 190 trees in large soil bags, a badminton court, and a mini library.
