PARK CITY — Park City Mountain celebrated spring with its fourth annual pond skim on Saturday.
The event featured 150 competitors, who each attempted to ski or snowboard across the water without falling in.
Contest categories included the biggest splash, best costume, best overall skim, and judge’s choice.
Mike Lewis, Vice President of Mountian Operations at Park City Mountain, was the first skier in the competition today and said it’s a great way to finish out their season.

Jim Quinn, who was dressed as Mr. Incredible, has competed in the event three years in a row. (Mark Less, KSL TV)
“It was just a fun way to come down and show everybody how we like to have fun, too,” he said.
Jim Quinn, who was dressed as Mr. Incredible, has competed in the event three years in a row. His favorite part is seeing the cheering crowd.
“Just the culture of the event, how great a day it is, and how everyone turns out for it, they do a great job here at Park City Mountain,” he said.
“I think it’s super cool seeing all the fun costumes. It’s super fun,” 12-year-old Avery Burke said.
“Only somebody with a really fun personality would come out and do this,” her mom, Jenn, added. “It’s just a party out here.”
Winners were decided by a jury of Park City community members.
