1 killed in garage fire in Ogden

OGDEN — A person died in a fire in a detached garage in Ogden on Tuesday morning, fire officials said.

Chief Mike Slater with the Ogden Fire Department said fire crews were dispatched to the 3100 Block of Adams Avenue just before 6 a.m. When they got there, they found smoke and flames coming from a detached garage.

Fire crews put the fire out before it spread to other buildings, Slater said. When crews searched the garage, they found a person inside a vehicle in the garage who had died.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life, and our thoughts are with the family during this time,” Slater said.
