Man dead, woman hospitalized after alleged Grantsville domestic violence incident

SALT LAKE CITY — A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital following what police said was an incident involving domestic violence in Grantsville Wednesday morning.

In a press release, the Grantsville City Police Department said officers responded at approximately 9:50 a.m. The incident took place at a home near West Street and Utah Drive.

Upon their arrival, officers found a female victim with an “apparent” gunshot wound to her head lying on the porch of the Grantsville home. Police immediately removed her from the scene, transferring her to the hospital. At this time, her condition is unknown.

Following this, officers secured the scene and called Tooele County SWAT for assistance. They then searched the home and found a dead male also with an “apparent” gunshot wound.

According to the press release, the State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in processing the scene. Police said they believe no other individuals were involved in the incident, and there is no known threat to the public at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
