Several lanes blocked on Bangerter Highway due to ‘structure emergency’

SALT LAKE CITY — Several northbound right lanes of Bangerter Highway in West Jordan are closed as authorities work to clear debris from the road.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, there is a “structure emergency” near mile point 12 on Bangerter Highway.

Detective Rhonda Fields with the West Jordan Police Department said officers received a call around 7:10 p.m. reporting a traffic accident with a dump truck. By the time they arrived, a truck bed was lifted and lodged between the bridge and roadway.

Fields said the driver of the dump truck received minor injuries and was not transported to a hospital.

In a post to X, UDOT said this occured near 8300 South in Salt Lake County, near West Jordan.

Fields estimates the scene will be cleared in the next 30 minutes.
