BRIGHAM CITY — A man was killed Wednesday night on Interstate 15 in Brigham City after his truck apparently broke down, blocking a lane. When he got out of the truck, he was hit, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Lt. Cameron Roden with the UHP said just after 7:30 p.m., a woman driving a Honda CRV was traveling north on the 1100 south exit when it came upon a Dodge pickup parked and blocking the lane. The truck didn’t have its lights on, Roden said, and it partially blocked the right side of the exit lane. The driver then exited the truck.
The Honda then side-swiped the pickup where the man was standing, throwing him from the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Roden said.
Responding law enforcement did not believe the woman was impaired. Traffic in the area was slowed until approximately 10 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
