SALT LAKE CITY —Two men accused of placing a bomb under a news truck earlier this month are now facing felony state charges, but not for that bomb.
Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill said Adil and Adeeb Nasir are facing charges of manufacturing, possessing or using a hoax weapon of mass destruction. In this case, it was fake dynamite.
Gill said police spotted it, along with some weapons in plain sight while executing a warrant related to the bomb under the news truck.
The bomb that was found under the news vehicle is under federal investigation. Any charges related directly to the Sept. 12 incident would come from federal authorities.
