WASHINGTON TERRACE, Weber County — A mandatory evacuation is in place for residents in Washington Terrace after a brush fire began threatening homes on Monday afternoon.
Washington Terrace asked all people on Adams Avenue on 5600 South/5700 South to 300 West to evacuate immediately.
“Your safety is our highest priority,” the city said in a Facebook post. “Please leave the area as soon as it is safe to do so and follow all directions from emergency personnel.”
The Senior Center located at 4301 S. 300 West will be open to residents as a temporary shelter, according to the city.
The Riverdale trail going south was also closed due to firefighting, according to Riverdale city officials.
The fire, now dubbed the Adams Fire, has quickly grown to 75 acres, according to Utah Fire Info.
