Fire crews fight ‘human-caused’ fire near Nephi

SALT LAKE CITY — Firefighters responded to a human-caused fire near Nephi Friday afternoon.

Utah Fire Info estimated the Hop Fire is approximately 50 acres and is located east of Nephi on Highway 132 in Salt Creek Canyon.

🔥 #HopFire Update:

Now ~50 acres and actively running. Burning at 7,400 ft in steep terrain, crews are having difficulty accessing the area safely.

No homes or structures are threatened, with no values at risk for several miles.

It said the fire is human-caused. No homes or any other structures are threatened at this time
