MIDWAY — A privately owned helicopter made an emergency landing in Wasatch Mountain State Park on Sunday.
In a Facebook post from the Utah Department of Natural Resources, the helicopter was conducting a sightseeing flight in the Boulder Basin area when it experienced a “mechanical issue mid-flight.”
DNR said the pilot made an emergency landing. However, the helicopter received several damages, making it inoperable.
Neither the pilot nor the two passengers sustained any injuries, according to the post.
Due to the remote area, DNR said the three hiked a half mile to a cabin and called for help.
Both the DNR’s Division of Law Enforcement and the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office responded.
The incident is under investigation.
