Man hit, killed by pickup truck in South Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY — A man was struck and killed by a pickup truck in South Salt Lake Thursday evening.

Around 6:15 p.m., a man was walking near 3300 South 1000 West when he was hit by a pickup truck, South Salt Lake Police said.

The man died. He was in his 40s or 50s, police said, but his identity has not been released.

Police said the driver of the truck is cooperating with the investigation. The area of the crash is anticipated to be closed until about 11 p.m.
