Man hospitalized after near drowning

SALT LAKE CITY — A man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being rescued from drowning near Cardiff Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
According to Sgt. Aymee Race of the Unified Police Department, the man was rescued shortly after the 911 call came in at 5:45 p.m.
Race said the man was between 50 and 60 years old, but did not give a specific age.
