SALT LAKE CITY — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash near Causey Reservoir on Saturday. Police said he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Lt. Sean Endsley with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said a 69-year-old motorcyclist was heading east towards the reservoir when he crashed near the entrance of Weber Memorial Campground.
The man had severe head injuries and died on scene, Endsley said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the motorcyclist was traveling alone.
Endsley said speed was likely a factor, but authorities were still on scene investigating.
“We want to remind people to ride safe and drive safe during the summer. We’re right in the middle of what we call those ‘100 Deadliest Days‘ between Memorial Day and Labor Day,” Endsley said. “So just always watch your speed, watch how you’re driving or riding.”
A medical helicopter was dispatched to the crash, but the man was not transported.
