One dead in Midvale following Thursday night crash and ‘criminal act’

SALT LAKE CITY — One person is dead after what police are calling a crash and “criminal act” in Midvale Thursday evening.

Detective Quin Wilkins with the Unified Police Department said the crash occurred near La Salle Drive and Jackson St in Midvale.

Wilkins also said the death was not a related to the crash, rather it was caused by “other circumstances.”

Next of kin of the deceased person has been notified.

The scene of the crash is currently considered a crime scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
