One juvenile dead in a reported shooting in Duchesne County

DUCHESNE, Utah — One juvenile male was found dead with a gunshot wound in Duchesne County Sunday, the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies received a report of a family fight in Northwest Duchesne County that “involved the discharge of a firearm,” Sheriff Travis L. Tucker said.
When deputies arrived to the scene, they found one male juvenile outside a residence, with the other dead inside the residence. Sheriff Tucker says he had a gunshot wound in his upper body.
The male juvenile found outside the area was taken into custody. He was taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning before being transported to the Split Mountain Youth Detention Center in Vernal.
The names of the deceased young man and the young man in custody haven’t been released.
The case is being investigated as a homicide.
