Roy woman in custody after aggravated assault, negotiations with SWAT

ROY — A woman is in custody after she barricaded herself inside a Roy home on Thursday night.
Roy police Sgt. Josh Taylor said the 45-year-old woman and her ex-spouse were arguing in a home near 2600 W. and 5000 S. During the argument, police said she presented a firearm and made threats toward her ex-spouse.
Roy police as well as the Ogden Metro SWAT team were on the scene trying to negotiate, Taylor said.
The spouse made it out of the house without any injuries. The suspect came out of the house after police used tear gas. She was also uninjured.

The suspect was taken into custody after negotiations with police. She was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, aggravated assault, intoxication, and obstruction.
An investigation continues.
