One person killed in two vehicle collision near Tooele

ERDA, Utah – One person was killed after two vehicles collided near State Route 179 Thursday.
At approximately 6:52 a.m., a white Ford F-150 was reportedly stopped to make a left turn from Parachute Lane onto S.R. 179 to travel southbound, according to the Department of Public Safety.
At the same time, a dark green Dodge caravan was reportedly traveling northbound on S.R. 179 heading towards Interstate 80, approaching the same intersection as the Ford.
“The F-150 proceeded with the left turn in front of the oncoming Caravan, failing to yield right of way,” DPS said.
According to DPS, the driver’s side of the F-150 collided with the caravan.
The driver of the F-150 was taken to a hospital where they later died. The driver of the caravan reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
DPS said the intersection was closed during the collision investigation.
No identifying information was immediately provided.
