Police search for vehicle after 14-year-old shot

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a white sedan after a 14-year-old boy was shot outside of a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church.

According to police, a few kids aged 13-14 were hanging out in the church parking lot at 1510 W. Parliament Ave in West Valley City. A white sedan with four people inside drove up.

After the parties spoke for “a bit,” the group in the white car asked for a specific person, one of the teens.

After the 14-year-old confirmed it was him, a person in the vehicle shot the boy.

He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Police believe it was a targeted shooting.
