VERNAL — An aircraft sent out a distress call in Uintah County, and emergency crews are trying to figure out if an aircraft crashed in the area.
Davies Sanchez with Utah Highway Patrol said a Department of Public Safety helicopter was responding to a “possible aircraft crash.” However, it was unclear exactly where the aircraft might have gone down, if at all.
“We have crews on the ground and in the air searching an area where a mayday request came from,” said Chief Deputy Brian Fletcher with Uintah Co. Sheriff’s Office. “We don’t know who the request came from or what, if any type of aircraft, is involved.”
