Teen hit near Lehi Rodeo Grounds dies in hospital, family confirms

LEHI — The 14-year-old girl hit by a car near the Lehi Rodeo Grounds on May 30 has died in the hospital, her family confirmed Saturday night.
Jenna Sharp had been at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City following the accident that occurred as she was leaving a multi-stake dance at the rodeo grounds.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our sweet daughter Jenna who was hit by a car on May 30th and life flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital in SLC. Jenna suffered severe trauma to her brain stem and has shown no signs of consciousness since the incident. With you, we hoped and prayed that a miracle might pull her through, but ultimately were faced with the impossibly difficult decision to withdraw life support and allow her to pass naturally. She passed peacefully early this afternoon,” the Sharp Family said.
In a GoFundMe organized by a family friend,* Jenna Sharp was described as “loyal, kind, spunky, and full of life.”
“Despite this horrible tragedy we have ironically experienced a bit of heaven on earth as we have felt God’s loving arms wrap around us — manifested by your selfless love for our family,” the Sharp Family said.
In a final act of selflessness, Jenna Sharp donated her organs to potentially save the lives of six others, her family said:
“Her brave and beautiful spirit lives on in those she helped, and her legacy of love will never be forgotten.”
