Victim identified in fatal auto-pedestrian crash in Layton

LAYTON, Utah — Layton police were investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian collision Wednesday night near the area of 1055 W. Antelope Drive.
On Thursday morning, police identified the victim as 45-year-old Lorenzo Richardson.
According to Sgt. Paul Gardner of the Layton Police Department, Richardson was crossing Antelope Drive when he walked into a vehicle that was traveling eastbound.
The driver of the vehicle was unable to miss Richardson. Police said he hit the windshield of the vehicle. Richardson was transported to an area hospital, but later died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Police did not release the victim’s name until family members were notified.
An investigation continues.
