Dance teacher accused of sexual abuse

SALT LAKE CITY — A warrant has been issued for the arrest of dance teacher accused of sexual abuse. The alleged abuse took place in 2021.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 37-year-old Quinell Dixon allegedly sexually assaulted a student and made inappropriate comments between May and Dec. 2021.
Per the affidavit, Dixon began asking the female student “inappropriate questions” related to sexual activity. He also allegedly bragged about how many people he had engaged in sexual intercourse with.
Dixon’s behavior allegedly later escalated to inappropriately touching the girl. He has been accused of grabbing her and “kissing the back of her neck,” according to the affidavit.
The affidavit lists one count of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
A separate court document issued on Feb. 18 revealed Dixon was expected to appear in court. It is unknown if Dixon appeared at the mandatory court appearance.
