SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating how a driver died after they fled from troopers and were found dead in a crash Friday afternoon.
UHP’s spokesperson Takesha Durrant said troopers were looking for a reported reckless driver in Washington County. When a trooper found them, they performed a traffic stop on the driver, but the driver fled.
Durrant said troopers found the car crashed on Interstate 15 near milepost 74 in the Cove Fort area. Troopers discovered the driver was dead in the car.
UHP is not treating the death as an officer-involved critical incident and does not have a cause of death.
