Family fight in Taylorsville leads to uncle stabbed to death

TAYLORSVILLE — A man was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly stabbing his uncle during a family fight, according to the Taylorsville Police Department.
Police said they responded to a stabbing at a local residence where they found Damon Michael Rushton, 26, and the body of his uncle lying on the floor
After being read his rights, Rushton allegedly admitted to the stabbing after his uncle allegedly placed Rushton’s brother in a chokehold, according to the affidavit.
When talking to other family members, the police said the uncle was trying to stop the brother from allegedly assaulting their father.
Ruston was later booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
