SALT LAKE CITY — A 14-year-old girl from Ogden has been missing for several days visiting her grandmother in Mexico.
The girl was last seen in Mexico City. Her mother hasn’t heard from her since their last phone call on June 30.
Special Agent Steven Hymas says they think a stranger took her.
“There’s surveillance video of her getting into a taxi. We believe she was manipulated by an adult to get into that taxi, and we have not seen her since,” Hymas said.
Her mother and the FBI are reaching out for the public for help.
Speaking at the FBI Salt Lake City Office, the girl’s mother Alma Soreque made a heartfelt plea for anyone with information about her daughter to come forward.
“We miss her so much. Every day… is a nightmare not knowing where she is and how she is doing,” Soreque said.
At the time of her disappearance, the girl wore dark blue jeans, a black hoodie and black and white vans.
