SALT LAKE CITY — A fire started in a detached garage near Warnock Ave. and Highland Dr. in South Salt Lake this evening.
The Salt Lake City Fire Department was alerted at 7:06 P.M. where it took fire crews around 15-20 minutes to contain and put out the fire.
Additionally the fire damaged a nearby supply power line. Rocky Mountain Power crews are on their way to repair the line.
Fortunately the fire was contained in the garage and did not damage any surrounding structures. However, Dan Walker with SLCFD said that the garage suffered, “significant loss”
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
No one was injured in the fire.
Warnock Ave. is most likely closed from Elizabeth St. to Highland Dr. as crews work to fix the damaged powerline.
