HYRUM, Utah — A 38-year-old man and 37-year-old woman found dead in their home have been identified, and the Cache County Sheriff’s Office said they believe the deaths are a result of a murder, suicide.
Sheriff Chad Jensen said that Dustin Preece, age 38, and Heather Preece, age 37, were discovered by their 16-year-old daughter.
“This is a terrible incident that happened in our peaceful community, but especially for the 16-year-old daughter who discovered the scene,” Jensen said.
“Victims’ advocates are working closely with her and the family to get them the services they may need.”
If you or anyone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, call 988, the National Suicide Prevention Hotline or the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (1-801-583-2500).
